The Ujjayi Riders workshops and classes for riders offered invite us to learn the fundamental principles of yoga, beyond the physical practice of asanas (postures) and to apply them to our horsemanship in order to benefit from the deep and powerful effects. Yoga prepares the rider to be as receptive as possible to his horse and to better integrate the teachings of the riding instructor. As riders, we want to improve our overall movement; our strength, balance, lightness, and bodily flexibility and we also want to work on our mind, using concentration and breathing work to become more aware of what is around us, what is happening inside. interior, of our horse and to listen to it. The practice of yoga invites us to empty the mind and connects us to our own energy and that around us. The 45-minute rider yoga class is for all riders and aims to help them work mindfully with greater finesse, and help them better prepare their bodies and recover better. The work on the floor on the yoga mat includes breathing techniques, a short meditation and a series of specific postures for riders which aims to strengthen the dorsal, lumbar and abdominal muscles, to develop flexibility, to loosen the pelvis, open the shoulders and build rider confidence. The Ujjayi Riders Workshops include the yoga part for riders of 45 minutes as well as the part with your horse, in total, the experience lasts between 2 and 3 hours.
